Barbara Ann Grant Cantrell, age 70, of Lincolnton, went home to be with her Savior Saturday, January 18, 2025, while at her residence. She was born October 4, 1954 to the late Carl and Vinnie Kirkland Grant.
Barbara was a faithful member, and church pianist at Howards Creek Baptist Church. Barbara loved singing gospel music and playing the piano, guitar, and bass guitar. Years ago, she was a track champion drag racer. Barbara was the first female to win a race at the Shuffletown speedway. Barbara also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and simply being outdoors.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Gaye Walker, and Elizabeth “Tiny” Grant; and uncle, Robert Kirkland.
Survivors include her loving husband of 53 years, Eddie Cantrell; daughter, Brittany Cantrell; grandchildren, Presley, Joshua, Parker, and Paisleigh; aunt, Jean Kirkland; cousins, Keith Kirkland, Karen Beal, Peggy Grant, and Charlene Eades; nephew, Michael Grant; her Boston terrier, Rambler; her poodle, Woody; and her cats, Meanness, and Blaze.
Her family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM Friday, January 24, 2025, at Carpenter-Porter Funeral and Cremation Services.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Carpenter-Porter Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Ricky Sigmon officiating. Burial will follow at Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery.
