Billie Christopher

Billie Faye Hill Christopher, age 74, of Somerset Court died Friday, December 27, 2013 at her residence. She was born in Gaston County on January 12, 1938, a daughter of the late Claude and Margaret Gardner Hill. She was a graduate of Ashley High School and Gaston School of Nursing. She was employed as a registered nurse for over 35 years, worked at Gaston Memorial Hospital as a med-surg nurse, and was a former director of Manor House.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in 2006, Bobby Wayne Christopher; and a sister, Carol King.

Survivors include her sons, Derek Christopher (Donna) of Dallas and Bobby "Chris" Christopher (Sherry) of Kings Mountain; daughters, Charlene McSwain (Mike) of Belmont and Catherine Dodgens (Robert) of Gastonia; sister, Betty Short of Kannapolis; uncle, Blair Gardner of Wrightsville Beach; grandchildren, Bonnie Smith (Robbie) of Belmont, Anna Miller (Tyler) of England, Heather McSwain, Joshua Christopher, and Micah McSwain of Gastonia; and great grandchildren, Ava Smith, Nora Smith, and Dane Wilson.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Carpenter's Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Alan Van Meter officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:30 to 2:45 prior to the service at the funeral home.
