Brenda Gayle Anthony Houck, age 81, of Cherryville, passed away on November 30, 2025. Brenda was born on September 29, 1944, in Cherryville, to the late Clarence Woodrow Anthony and the late Eidith Louise Noles.

Brenda, best known as Mawmaw, was a Senior Tax Advisor for over 40 years. She loved collecting records for her jukebox. She loved decorating for all holidays and family functions. She loved going out in her unique cars with her big sunglasses. She loved shopping for her entire family and constructing her infamous “Temu Baskets.” She loved receiving key chains and magnets from around the world from her family. Finally, she loved anyone who walked into her house to spend time with her.

In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her siblings, Don Anthony, Gene Anthony, Bernice Seate, Barbara Haskins, and Billy Anthony.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, David Houck; daughter, Windy Houck; sons, Randy Willis, Rodney Willis, Rondale Willis (Joann), Roby Willis (Mary), and Kelly Willis (Christina); brother, Steve Anthony; grandchildren, D.J. Elam, Jonathan Elam, Emilee Willis, and Seth Willis; and fur babies, Sugar, Peanut, and Precious.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 3, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Carpenter-Porter Funeral Home.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at City Memorial Cemetery, with Rev. Jaie Warlick officiating.
