Derek Pruitt

Derek Todd Pruitt, age 42 of Capernium Rd. died Tuesday, April 19, 2016. He was born on December 7, 1973 in Cleveland County to the late Kenneth Michael and Rachel Rucker Pruitt. He was employed at Timken and formerly attended Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a member of the NRA. His passion was riding motorcycles, especially his Harley.

Survivors include his fiancée, Mollie Arndt; sister, Julie P Brittain and husband, Chad; stepchildren, Mitchell Mantooth II, Leah Mantooth, and Lacey Mantooth; nephews, Hunter Dane Brittain and Matthew Dale Brittain; grandchildren, Emma Mantooth, Lawson and Kinsley Carver, Addylynn Dominguez, and Jacob Avery, Jr; and "brother," Dennis Humphries.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 4:00 PM at Carpenter's Funeral & Cremation Services with Uncle Mickie Ferguson officiating. Derek's last ride home will follow the service. All Bikers welcome. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:00 to 3:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
