Donnie Holbrook Davis

Donnie Holbrook Davis, age 83, of Yadkinville, formerly of Lincolnton, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at her residence. Donnie was born on July 17, 1941, in Lincoln County, to the late Russel James and Lillian Black Holbrook.

Donnie retired from JP Stevens. She was a member of Boger City Baptist Church. She enjoyed Sunday family dinners and getting her weekly treat of frozen yogurt. Donnie was skilled in sewing and canning. She loved old movies and listening to music, especially Gospel music and music from the Grand Ole Opry. Donnie adored her family but always had a special place in her heart for her “favorite” as she enjoyed spoiling her granddaughter, Shannon.

In addition to her parents, Donnie was preceded in death by her first husband, Glenn Dayton Richard, Sr.; son, Donny Ray Richard; granddaughter, Jenna Lavon Richard; brothers, Buddy Holbrook and Robert Holbrook; sister, Shirley Fredell; and sister-in-law, Doris Holbrook.

Survivors include her husband of 25 years, Kenneth C. Davis; sons, Glenn Dayton Richard, Jr. and wife, Lavon, and Bobby C. Richard and wife, Tina, ; stepsons, Joseph Davis and Jeffrey Davis; stepdaughter, Hope Ledwell; grandchildren, Shannon Williams and husband, Samuel, Cody Ledwell, Kinley Ledwell, and John Williams; great granddaughter, Makayla Williams; sisters, Starlene Southers and Sabra Lynch and husband, Bobby; brother-in-law, Marshall Fredell; furbaby, Trigger; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Saturday, June 7, 2025 from 1:00 to 1:45 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Bill Bigham officiating. Burial will be private.
