Dustin Caldwell

Dustin Scott Caldwell, age 43, of Lincolnton, passed away Friday, May 29, 2026. He was born April 15, 1983, in Lincoln County, son of David Wayne Caldwell and Lisa Lynn Smith.

Dustin was a 2001 graduate of West Lincoln High School. He was veteran of the United States Navy. Dustin was an avid exerciser and jogger. He enjoyed hiking South Mountain State Park with his mom for 27 years.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Janice Loftis White; and his dog, Essie.

Survivors include his mother, Lisa Smith (Greg); father, David Wayne Caldwell; daughter, Madlynn Rose Conner; maternal grandfather, Harold Wayne Smith (Joyce); uncles, David Smith (Diane Watkins), and Phillip Smith (Katie); aunt, P.J. Bell (Jeff); and numerous cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Boger City Baptist Church, with Pastor Bill Bigham officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM, prior to the service at the church. Burial will be private.
