Edward “Morris” Kiser, age 80, of Cherryville, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2025, at his residence. He was born November 13, 1944, in Lincoln County, to the late Thomas Oran Kiser, Sr. and Annie Mae Goins Kiser. Morris loved gardening and cooking. He enjoyed family dinners and helping to prepare them. He also enjoyed cars, whether it was working on them or watching tv shows about them. Morris liked watching Vice Grip Garage YouTube Channel, Charles Stanley preaching, and Western Movies. However, his greatest passion in life was the love he had for his kids and his grandbabies. With his often gruff exterior, he also had a very soft spot for his beloved wife, Ruth. Even in the depths of his sickness, he was always putting her needs before his. Family was his greatest love.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles, Tom Jr., and Darrell Kiser; and in-laws, Samuel and Elsie Sellers, Steve Sellers, and Mary Martin.
Survivors include his loving wife, Evelyn Ruth Sellers Kiser, whom he spent 59 years with and was married to for 46 years; his children, Amanda and Ronny Jordan, Jason and Tiffani Kiser, Brian and Amber Kiser, Ashley and Andrew Turner, Jessica and Robbie Davis; grandchildren, Caleb Jordan, Andrea Turner, Sam Kiser, Colton Kiser, Mack Turner, Olivia Kiser, Hattie Davis, Eli Kiser, Evie Davis, and Mavey Kiser; brother, Harvey Kiser and wife, Rose; “adopted son,” Robert Davis, II; sister-in-law, Betty Trammell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the home of Morris and Ruth Kiser, 220 Kenwood Rd. Friday, July 18, beginning at 3:00 PM.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Kiser Family Cemetery, 166 Eaker Dr., Cherryville, NC.
