Elaine Boyd Hallman, 80, of Cherryville, passed away on August 11, 2025. She was born on September 20, 1944, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Johnie L. Boyd and Mildred Dalton Boyd. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Garland H. Hallman, Jr. She and Garland were members of Piney Knob Baptist Church.

Elaine is also survived by her sons, Benjamin R. Hallman (Rhonda), G. Henry Hallman, III (Vicente), and Kelly H. Hallman (Jennifer); granddaughters, Chloe Hallman, and Chaela Simms Gilbert (Chris); grandsons, Daniel Hallman, and Terry Simms; great grandson, Julian Gilbert; sisters, Nancy Costner, and Libby Mervin; sister-in-law, Judy Boyd; and yorkies, who she loved dearly, Charlotte, Holly, and Gracie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Joe Boyd, Ronnie Boyd, and Johnie Boyd, Jr.; sisters, Patricia Parker, and Margaret Vaughn; and beloved daughter-in-law, Kim Stamey Hallman.

Elaine was a graduate of Cherryville High School class of 1962 and of Richmond Community College, formerly Richmond Technical Institute, where she graduated first in her class of Associate Degree Nurses. Elaine was loved by her family and was lovingly referred to as Granny. Elaine loved crafting, including basket weaving, quilting, and making cards. She loved to cook and bake, and was particularly known for her homemade cakes, pies, candies, and fudge.

Elaine’s wishes were for a brief, graveside service only, which will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday August 14, 2025, at Cherryville City Cemetery, with Rev. Casey Stockton and Rev. Matt Thomas officiating.
