Gail Glover Allen

Gail Glover Allen, age 75, of Bessemer City, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 3, 2026, at her residence. Gail was a devoted wife, stepmother, and step-grandmother, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a family who loved her deeply. She fought a long hard battle with cancer but now she is with her Savior where there is no cancer or pain.

She was born May 29, 1951, in Gaston County, to the late Carl Steven and Maxine Beam Glover. She graduated from Tryon High School and Appalachian State University with a BS and MS in English. She taught English at Pembroke State University. Gail also wrote technical manuals for a number of companies in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.

Gail is survived by her husband of 44 years, Sam Allen; brother, Richard Glover and wife, Lisa; sister, Beth Glover Toney and husband, Jimmie; stepsons, Derrick Allen and wife, Janie and Dennis Allen and wife, Patti; grandchildren, Joshua and Kelsey Allen, Jessica and Andy Davis, Jaylynn Allen, Gracie Allen, Grayson Allen, Gunner Allen, Garrett and Maddy Allen, and Katie Allen; great-grandchildren, Everleigh Davis and Everett Davis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 7, 2026, from 1:00 to 1:45 PM at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church.

Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM Wednesday at the church with Rev. Robert Austin officiating.

Burial will take place afterwards in the church cemetery.
