Geraldine “Deanie” Mauney Roome, age 79, of Lincolnton, passed away Friday, April 24, 2026, at Testa Family Hospice. She was born February 7, 1947, in Gaston County to the late Floyd and Bertie Lee Costner Mauney.

Deanie had several hobbies, including sewing, crocheting, and working in her yard – planting flowers. She was also an excellent baker and was known for her coconut cakes and Lemon pound cakes. Deanie retired in 2003, after more than 20 years, as an inspector for Bali/Hanesbrand.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Anthony “Tony” Roome; siblings, Walter Mauney, Mary Lee Flowers, Louise Williams, and Faye Belle Truesdale; and nieces, Deanna Waddell, Pam Rudisill, and Debbie Mathison.

Survivors include her grandson, Zachary Tumbleson (Renee); great-grandchildren, Aliester Tumbleson, and Talulah Tumbleson; brother, Harold Mauney; nieces and nephews, Leanna Chupp (Jess), Lisa Bumgardner (Barry), Janice Barker (Roy), Sandy Lynn (Lee), Donna Hall, and Robert Rudisill.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, April 27, 2026, at Westview Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Rudisill officiating. Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 2:45 PM prior to the service at the church.
