Jane Edwards Adams

Jane Reuché Edwards Adams, age 93, of Cherryville, formerly of Vale, passed away September 9, 2025, at Atrium Health Cleveland. Jane was born February 1, 1932, in Cleveland County, to the late Gilbert Willard and Essie Everett Howard Edwards.

Jane was a lifetime member, and the oldest member, of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in Lawndale. She was a retired seamstress and after retirement, she volunteered for 10 years at Cleveland Pines Nursing Home. Jane had a sweet tooth, and she loved food and watching the Food Network. She also loved Christmas Hallmark movies, word puzzles, game shows, and the color purple. Jane enjoyed Friday hair and lunch dates with her sister Noami. She looked beautiful sitting on the back porch, in her sunglasses and big sun hats, as she enjoyed the flowers and sunshine.

In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her first husband, John Self; second husband, Clyde Adams; fiancé, Roger Hoyle; two brothers; two sisters; great grandson, Ethan Martin; son-in-law, John Mauney; and daughter-in-law, Shelia Self.

Survivors include her children, Shelia Hamrick (Scott), Michael Self, Deborah Mauney, Juanita Martin (Danny); stepdaughter, Lucy Eveland; grandchildren, Chris, Jennifer (Jenn), Brad (Nicole), Shawn (Stacey), Nicholas (Catherine), and Lacey (Ryan); great grandchildren, Corey, Tommy, Bethany, Hunter, Ryan, and Gavin, Braxton, Raleigh, Conner, Hannah, Heather, Mackenzie, and Cooper; and six great-great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, with Rev. Van Spencer officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:30 PM until 4:00 PM, prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
