Joe Brown

Wilbur Joe Brown, age 48, of E. First Street, passed away Monday, January 1, 2018 at Carolinas Medical Center- Main. He was born September 26, 1969 in Gaston County to Barbara Morrow Brown and the late Worth Joe Brown. Joe was an assembly man at Bradington Young and was a member of Faith Baptist Church. He was an original Cherryville New Year's Shooter, a baseball and football fan and an avid fisherman.

He is survived by two children, Josh Mears of Rutherfordton and Jamie Mears of Lincolnton; brother, Todd Brown and Ann of Cherryville; sisters, Teresa Henderson and Scott of Lawndale and Donna Jenkins of Cherryville; Nieces and Nephews, Debra Seate, Dawn Brown, Dusty Brown, Richard Brown, Timmy Dales, Tabatha Santana, Megean Burnette and Logan Burnette.

A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Tom Hartis officiating. Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery. Family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 7:30 PM at the funeral home and other times at the home.
