Judy Craig Howell

Judy Craig Howell, age 78 of Vale, passed away Friday, January 24, 2025, at her residence. She was born May 9, 1946, in Lincoln County to the late Forest and Christine Hoyle Craig. Judy retired after 23 years from Lincoln County Schools where she was a bus driver with North Brook Elementary School and was also formerly employed with Sweetree of Cherryville. She was a member of Hulls Gove Baptist Church. Judy enjoyed cooking and baking. She also loved to work in the yard. She had a special gift of taking care of others. Anytime she knew others were in need, she was right there to lend a helping hand in any way that she could. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Kenneth Robert “Corky” Howell; and son, Bentley Robert Howell.

Survivors include her son, Wes Howell and wife, Jennifer; grandchildren, Morgan Howell and fiancé, Josiah Coffey, and Shelby Howell; brother, Arnold Craig and wife, Hilda; sister, Loretta Costner and husband, Jay; brother-in-law, Jim Howell and wife, Janice; special family friends, Rev. Ray and Margaret Leonhardt; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private graveside will be held at Hulls Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Leonhardt officiating.
