Linda Heafner Dellinger, age 81, of Cherryville, passed away Monday, June 15, 2026, at Lincolnton Rehab. She was born August 4, 1944, in Lincoln County, to the late Paul Nathaniel and Velma Reynolds Heafner.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Dean Dellinger; brother, David Heafner; and son-in-law, Charlie Jones.
Survivors include her daughter, Annette Dellinger Jones; sons, Mitchel Dellinger (Tammy), and Loney Dellinger (Wanda); sister, Billie Sue Brittain; grandchildren, Travis Jones (Dana), Jesse Jones (Jennifer), Ashley Watts, Carley Deanna Postell, and Thomas Michael Braswell; and great-grandchildren, Abigail Jones, Missy Brown, Mikey Brown, Axel Jones, Brayden Drewery, Adalynn Drewery, Jaxson Watts, Levi Hale, Stacy Blanton, Presley Blanton, Alaya Nicole Faye Truett, Braelyn Grace Truett, and Axl Daxton Truett.
Linda was a true believer. She enjoyed reading her Bible, spreading the good word, and witnessing to anyone who would listen. She loved Jesus and spent much of her time ministering to children at the church and individuals in the jail. Linda was a former Lincoln County Sherriff’s Officer, textile worker, photographer, and waitress. She had many talents and jobs, and there was truly nothing she couldn’t do. She loved her two cats, Buffy and Sierra, but more than anything, she loved her family, especially her grandbabies.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Carpenter-Porter Funeral Home, with Missionary Bobby Farmer officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM, prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
