Louis Erich

Louis Elmer Erich Jr. age 93 of Hillcrest St. passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Wendover Hospice House. He was born on March 30, 1922 in Elk County, Pennsylvania to the late Louis and Marie Schaberl Erich. Louis was a WWII Veteran of the United States Army. He and his brother owned and operated Erich Brothers where they built numerous houses in PA. He enjoyed hunting in his younger years and enjoyed being out in nature and taking his dog on walks.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Horner Erich; grandson, Eric Larkin; and siblings, Earl Erich, Alfred Erich, Rosemarie Kerner, and Ruth Erich.

Survivors include his children, Ruth Marie Shippling and husband, Brian of Connelly Springs, Michael Louis Erich and wife, Brenda of Hildebran, Sharon Ann Larkin and husband, Terry of Cherryville, Laurie Jean Young and husband, Dennis of St. Mary's, PA, and Louise Elizabeth Woodford and husband, Joseph of St. Mary's, PA; brother, Levern Erich of St. Mary's, PA; grandchildren, Russell Meyer, Rachelle Bish, Rodney Meyer, Pierce Erich, Annemarie Erich, Leighann Larkin, Kristi Woodford, and Shawn Woodford; and great grandchildren, Brandon Meyer, Kyle Bish, Karly Bish, Lily Erich, Emily Erich, Tucker Larkin, and Nicholas Woodford.

A memorial service will be held privately at a later date in Pennsylvania.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorials be made to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Dr., Shelby, NC 28150.
