Margie Black

Margie Taylor Black, age 77, died Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Brian Center of Lincolnton. She was born September 17, 1938 in Pittsylvania County, VA to the late James Irvin and Myrtle Eulaya Robertson Taylor. She was employed at Mohican Mills and Fab Industries as a billing coordinator. Margie was a former member of the Eastern Star. She found great pleasure spending time with her grandkids, traveling, shopping and her beloved soap operas.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Black; and a brother, Jimmy Taylor.

She is survived by her children, Michael Lewis (Carolyn) of Grottoes, VA, Danny Lewis of Gretna, VA., Wendy Lewis Houser (Teddy) of Lincolnton, and Tammy Walker Ledford of Casar; brothers, Larry Taylor of Danville, VA, and Jerry Taylor (Donna) of Dry Fork, VA.; sister, Patsy T. Bowman of Danville, VA.; grandchildren, James Lewis, Jessica Lewis-Poole, Zachary Houser, Lauren Ledford, and Chastity Ledford; Great-Grandchildren, Christian Lewis, Samuel Lewis and Caleb Lewis and Mayson Poole; Niece, Sherry Taylor Clayton (Brian) and their children Taylor, Katie and Jackson of Roxboro.

Graveside Services will be held on Monday, July 18, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Mary's Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Leonard Bumgardner officiating. Family will receive friends at Carpenter's Funeral & Cremation Services on Sunday From 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
