Mary Spake

Mary Elizabeth Martin Spake, age 85, of Houser St. passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. She was born August 23, 1931 in Catawba County to the late Walter Furman and Josephine Elizabeth Jones Martin. Mary was once employed with Keystone Carbon and was retired from Bradington- Young.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sister, Sylvia Haywood.

She is survived by her children, Linda Hudson and husband, Jerry, Brenda Bridges and husband, Chris, Judy Lansing Martin, and Jimmy Spake all of Cherryville; brothers, Walter Martin, Jr., Tony Martin and Billy Martin; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be held Tuesday June 20, 2017 at 4:00 PM at City Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Holtsclaw officiating. Family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.
