Mitchell Bumgarner

Mitchell Eugene Bumgarner, age 71, of Cherryville, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2026, at his home, with his loving wife by his side. Mitch was born January 22, 1955, in Rutherford County, to the late Coy Eugene and Shelby Jean Buchanan Bumgarner.

Mitch was a member of Lincolnton Church of God and a former member of Driven By Grace Biker Ministry. Mitch loved to ride motorcycles for Jesus, with his wife and friends. He also liked to fish with his wife and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Mitch was also a truck driver for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa Bumgarner; daughters, Dana Bumgarner Summers, and Lacy Bumgarner; sisters, Donna Bumgarner Smith (Gary), Gloria Bumgarner Bowman (John), and Lisa Bumgarner Philbeck (David); grandchildren, Katie Summers Conner (Brandon), Sarah Summers, Britt Petty, and Gabe Petty; and great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Emma, Shamira, and Brandon Jr..

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on August 8, 2026, at Lincolnton Church of God, with Bishop Danny Houser and Bishop Dr. Richard King officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service, at the church.
