Nicole Barkley

Mary “Nicole” Ogle Barkley, age 41, of Cherryville, met her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at Atrium Cabarrus. She was born January 15, 1983, in Welch County, West Virginia, to Pastor Teddy Ray Ogle, Sr. and Linda Faye Parker Ogle. She was a mama and a daddy’s girl. Nicole was a member of Cherryville Church of God. She was a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. Nicole, or “Pooh” as she was lovingly referred to, was always happy and smiling. She was loved by everyone and was the light of a candle. She knew how to make bad days good for others. She loved spending time with her husband and son and went on yearly camping trips with her family. Pooh also enjoyed crafts but her greatest passion in life was being Mama to Alex.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Grace and Clarence Ogle and Margie and Charles Parker.

In addition to her parents, Teddy and Linda, she is survived by her husband of 22 years, Chance Barkley; son, Alexander Ray “Alex” Barkley; brothers, “Bub” Teddy Ogle, Jr. (Angie), Jason Ogle, and “T-Ray” Teddy Ogle, III; sisters, Pam Thompson (Eddie) and Melissa Charles; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dale and Vickie Barkley; brother-in-law, Casey Dale Barkley; furbaby, Harry; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 PM Sunday December 1, 2024, at Cherryville Church of God with Bishop Ed Mullaly officiating. Her family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:15 PM prior to the service at the church.

A private entombment will be held at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
