Norma Jean Gilhousen Miller, age 80, of Lincolnton, formerly of Fuquay-Varina, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at Carolina Care Health & Rehabilitation. She was born April 11, 1945, in Pennsylvania to the late Hiram Dale Gilhousen and Mary Christmas O’Harah Sprankle. Norma married her high school sweetheart at age 18 and they began their journey together. She spent many years working as a Plant Manager in Clothing Manufacturing before following her dream of becoming a chef. She attended culinary school where she honed her skills even more in cooking and baking. She even won many gold medals in tournaments for her skills, and her family reaped the benefits of her amazing cooking. She also enjoyed gardening in her spare time. Norma loved Jesus Christ and stayed busy keeping Johnny in line.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and James Sprankle and Hiram Gilhousen; and sister, Mary Duggins.

Norma is survived by her husband of 64 years, Johnny Marion Miller; son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Angie Miller; grandson, Chandler Davis Miller; and brothers, Dale Gilhousen and wife, Debbie, Jay Sprankle and wife, Cathy, and Ray Sprankle and wife, Tracy.
