Johnnie Randall "Randy" Cox, age 66 of Black Rd. passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Carolinas Medical Center - Lincoln. He was born December 21, 1951 in Dooly County, Georgia to Wynelle Cox of Cordele, GA and the late Johnnie Cox. Randy was a long line truck driver with UPS Freight and studied theology at Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He had many passions including music, woodworking, and hunting and fishing. He was a prankster who could talk to anybody and enjoyed spending time with his grandbabies.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 40 years, Cynthia White Cox; daughters, Lacindi Robinson and husband, Mark of Vale, Wendy Jenkins and husband, Cliff of Cherryville and Charlie Turner of Cherryville; grandchildren, Carla Hodge, Johnathan Weber, Jeffrey Eaker, Clifford Jenkins III, Austin Jenkins, Mathew Cox and Alyssa Ridgeway; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Debra Cox Kline and brother-in-law, Brad; sisters-in-law, Sylvia White and Jen Canrobert; nephew, Gregory Butler; niece, Kimberly McConell and husband, Jamey; and several great nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Key officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Dr. Lincolnton, NC 28092.
