Richard Hammond

Richard Wilmer "JR" Hammond, Jr. age, 54 of Eaker Dr. passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Carolinas Healthcare System - Cleveland. He was born on July 21, 1962 in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania to Thelma Hammond Curtis of Claremont and the late Richard Hammond Sr. JR, or RawDawg, as he was affectionately known by his friends and family, was an avid fan of MMA fighting and enjoyed deer hunting. He loved spending time with his family and especially his grandkids.

Survivors include his mother, Thelma Hammond Curtis and husband, Arnold of Claremont; companion of 23 years, Vickie Robinson; stepson, Aaron Robinson; brother, Brett Hammond and wife, Catrina; sister, Dawn Mosteller and husband, Shawn; step brothers, Darin, Ronnie, and David Curtis; step sister, Darlene Wetmore and husband, Chalk; two grandchildren; 10 nieces; 8 nephews; 3 great nieces; and 3 great nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 1, 2016 at 7:00 PM at Carpenter's Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Cherish Carter officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5:30 to 6:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
