Roger Dale Chapman, 68 of Newton died August 11, 2014 at Abernethy Laurels. He was born on August 8, 1946 in Lincoln County, a son of the late Lafayette and Jane Cooke Chapman. He had attended North Lincoln Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Chapmen and Edna Ruth Chapman.
Survivors include his brother Lester Chapman of Lincolnton and many friends in the Newton area.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at Carpenter's Funeral and Cremation Services at 4:00 PM with Rev. Leonard Bumgardner officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 3-3:45 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
