Roxanne Bess

Roxanne Bess, age 64, of Waco, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Wendover Hospice House. She was born July 6, 1960, in Cleveland County, to the late Walter Dixon “Curt” and Frankie Dellinger Bess. Roxie was a former volunteer with Cherryville Area Ministries. She enjoyed puzzles, word games, and solitaire. She was also a Lego Masterbuilder, who loved all things Disney, Mickey Mouse, and Eeyore. Roxie loved kids and had a special way of connecting with them all. She especially loved her nephews. Roxie had a servant’s heart and found pleasure in helping others, as well as cats in need.

She is survived by her sister, Star B. Shipley and husband, Mike; brother, Tony Bess and wife, Sheila; nephews, Joshua Bess, Xerek Shipley, and Kai Shipley; aunts and uncles, Jack Dellinger, Gay Ramsey, Kathy Carpenter and husband, Jerry, Jeanette Bridges, Selma Bess, and Floyd Camp; and her many friends with TLC.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Huss officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 to 1:45 prior to the service at the church.
