Seburn Douglas Clark, age 66, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, on September 18, 2025, at Wendover Hospice House. Doug was born on January 2, 1959, in Gaston County, son of the late Ira Walden and Pauline Greene Clark.
Doug was a member of Community Grove Church in Vale. He was also a Mason with Whetstone Lodge #515 in Bessemer City. Doug was an arborist and had a passion for working with wood. He enjoyed whittling, carving wood figurines, and all types of woodwork. Doug loved watching Westerns, crafting, drawing, and fishing. He also loved his dog, Earl, and his cat, Swallowtail. However, his greatest loves were his church and his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his loving wife of 39 years, Kathy Hensley Clark; sons, Billy Bennett, and Jerry Bennett (Tammy); grandchildren, Jerry Bennett, Jr. (Amber), John Bennett (Megan), and Savannah Bennett (Michael Balius); great-grandchildren, Olivia Bennett, Connor Bennett, Coleson Bennett, and Grayson Balius; and good friends, David “Doo-Dah” Fredell, and Adam Hullett.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Monday, September 22, 2025, at Carpenter-Porter Funeral Home, with Pastor Daniel Woody and Assistant Pastor Michael Cook officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 3:45 PM, prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
