Thelda Anne Hamm Wood, age 63, of Lincolnton, passed away December 17, 2025, at Atrium Health Lincoln. She was born December 21, 1961, in Gaston County, to the late Boyd and Edna Galloway Hamm. Thelda was passionate about animals, especially dogs. She was a dog groomer by trade and loved her furbabies. She was also an avid reader.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and soulmate, Rickie Franklin Wood; and her brothers, Ronald Hamm and Scott “Hambone” Hamm.

Survivors include her sisters, Linda Witherspoon and husband, Yates, and Janet Scarborough and husband, David; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of close friends that she considered family.

In accordance with her wishes, no formal services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lincoln County Animal Shelter, 650 John Howell Memorial Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
