Wasana Stone, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 29, 2026, in Lincolnton, North Carolina, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, friendship, and love.
Born on January 20, 1946, in Bangkok, Thailand, Wasana carried a joyful spirit and love for people throughout her life. Her journey brought her from Thailand to the United States, where she made her home in Colorado and Arizona before spending her final years in North Carolina.
Wasana truly never met a stranger. She had a gift for connecting with people and making everyone feel welcome. Whether through a friendly conversation, a helping hand, or a warm smile, she touched countless lives with her kindness and genuine interest in others. Her love for life was evident in everything she did, and she found great joy in spending time with friends and participating in activities and volunteer opportunities at the Senior Center.
Family was at the center of Wasana's life. She was especially proud of her grandchildren and was her grandson Cooper's biggest fan, enthusiastically cheering him on at swim meets and celebrating his accomplishments every step of the way. Her love, encouragement, and unwavering support will remain cherished memories for those who knew her best.
Wasana was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved granddaughter, Brittany Sim.
She is lovingly survived by her sister and niece in Thailand; her daughters, Suzi Stone of Arvada, Colorado, and Debbie Stone-Muller of Cherryville, North Carolina; Debbie's husband, Timothy, their daughter Samantha and son, Cooper; her granddaughter, Debbie Wilmer and her husband, Richard, of Arvada, Colorado; along with countless friends who became family throughout her life.
Though she will be deeply missed, Wasana's spirit lives on in the many lives she touched through her generosity, compassion, and friendship. Her family and friends will forever remember her warm heart, her love of life, and her remarkable ability to turn strangers into friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services, 1100 E. Main Street, Cherryville, North Carolina. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM, prior to the service at the funeral home.
