William Knittel

William Louis Knittel, 74, of Hepzibah Church Rd., died May 12, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on Feb. 24, 1942 a son of the late Louis M. and Beulah LeBaron Knittel. He was a self -employed mechanic, machinist and salesman. Mr. Knittel was a member of Anthony Grove Baptist Church and the Cherryville Gold Wing Club. He found great pleasure in helping others, could repair almost anything, was an amateur race car driver, and enjoyed repairing Corvettes. He adored all types of animals.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister Dolly Misky.

Survivors include his wife Carol Lamparter Knittel , children Bobby Knittel and wife Anita of Ocala, FL, Nancy Knittel Ehrke and husband Ed, of West Palm Beach, FL, Sara Knittel, of Tarrytown, NY, and Shane Zollo and wife Theresa, of Bessemer City, six grandchildren, Mary Ness, Bobby Knittel, Jr., Craig Vickrey, Kandan Zollo, Ellorie Karger, and Lillian Zollo, six great grandchildren Bailey Wolfe, Rocco Ness, Haley Rudd, Gabby Rudd, Grady Knittel, and Alleyna Vickrey, brother Tom Knittel of Ashtabula, Ohio, and a sister Sandy Banaszek, of Painesville, Ohio.

A private memorial service will be held at the home.
