William "Ted" Poston

William “Ted” Poston, age 69, of Crouse, passed away June 12, 2025, at his home. Ted was born on November 22, 1955, in Cleveland County, to the late Everette Howard and Ruth Wood Poston.

Ted was a Veteran of the United States Navy and worked as an electronics engineer. He liked watching Cherryville Legion Baseball, and sitting on his swing with his dogs, Dottie and Nala. Ted loved spending time with his sons, Zach and Nick, and his grandchildren, Noah and Teddy.

Survivors include his sons, William “Zach” Poston (Peyton), and Nicholas “Nick” Poston (Clare); brothers, Ed Poston (Lynn), and Steve Poston (Pam); sisters, Jane Bumgarner, and Jean Morgan; and grandchildren, Noah Poston and Teddy Poston.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM, at Carpenter-Porter Funeral Home. A Memorial Service with military honors will be held at 2:00 PM, at the Marvin United Methodist Church Cemetery, on Startown Road, with Dr. Dennis Bean officiating. All are welcome to celebrate the life of Ted after the service with a meal at Marvin United Methodist Church.
